In 1980s a team of engineers started development of the high efficiency water cooled electromagnetic inductors for the improvement of the mixers of the Bratsk aluminium plant. Among them was Gors own expert Mr Eduard Isidorov. The inductors were installed for preparation of Al-Si and Al-Mg alloys.In 1981 the first prototype of modern Gors inductor was created. During next dozen of years it has suffered numerous refinements under control of Eduard and his team.

The company was founded in 1994 and has adopted the experience and knowledge from dozen years of work and has been improving further since that time.


Gors inductors

Gors Ltd technical solutions allow transforming old ineffective melting or holding furnace into a modern and competitive furnace with high efficiency coefficient. All Gors stirrers and pumps are equipped with electromagnetic inductors of different power made by Gors Ltd.

An electromagnetic inductor of a running magnetic field is embodied as a solid block which includes a liquid cooled flat-linear magnetic core with grooves, in which the winding is stacked. The gaps between magnetic core with the winding and the body are filled by compound. Cooling system requires pressure of 3 Bar and flow of 1.5 to 3m3 per hour. Gors stirrers and pumps are equipped with all necessary safety and efficiency technologies and can be connected to common electric grid. Gors inductors are power regulated with active power up to 80 kW.


Electromagnetic induction stirrers

Gors inductors were developed more than thirty years ago as alternative to the bulky low frequency stirrers. The aim was to create more compact stirrer for preparation of aluminium alloys. The size of inductor working at industrial frequency 50/60Hz is considerably smaller and so is the mounting place on the furnace which allows saving space and costs.

Gors-Vertical-Pump

Gors Induction Mixer Module (IMM) (patent No,: US8486326 B2) is a patented device that can be fitted to an old furnace in a short amount of time to raise its performance. It can be retrofit to a holding or melting furnace with capacity from 1 to 100 tones. Gors IMM is supplied as a complete setup which only requires short closedown of the furnace. Gors IMM can be installed on a melting or holding furnace to perform several key functions with one device:
- Submerging of chips, lumps, swarfs and UBCs underneath the metal level.
- Submerging of alloying components and provision of temperature and chemical homogeneity.
- Allows metal refining and casting.
- Mixing and casting of aluminum alloys susceptible to segregation.

Gors Stirrer is a simple and effective patented device that can be installed on a new furnace or retrofit to an existing furnace. Gors Stirrer is used to provide homogeneity of temperature and chemical composition of molten metal in the bath. It improves quality of metal and increases melting rate.

Gors Mixer is a technology where an electromagnetic inductor is positioned at an angle of 30 to 60 degrees to the vertical plane. Such a technology creates vortex at the metal surface which submerges any scrap or alloying components under the molten metal surface. UBC's, swarfs, lumps and silicone can be charged into the vortex chamber in order to submerge these materials under the metal surface. Gors Mixer also provides stirring of the molten metal in the furnace bath to ensure temperature and chemical homogeneity. Can be retrofit to an existing furnace or fit to a new furnace.

Gors Vertical Pump

Gors vertical pump is a proven technology for transferring molten metal from stationary furnaces. Vertical pump is capable of pumping metal up to height of 1500mm depending on the customers need. The pump can be equipped with laser level control and power regulator to adapt to any required conditions. Gors vertical pump pumping capacity can be adjusted to the need of customer.

Gors-Vortex (patent No.: US 9,051,623 B2) is a unique technique for submerging lightweight scrap ensures maximum charging rate with minimal metal loses and dross formation. The technology allows charging chips, turnings, UBCs, foil and other lightweight materials. Molten metal is supplied to vortex camera using the electromagnetic inductor that is installed directly on furnace wall and has all privileges of no contact with molten metal. Yet it avoids problems of metal solidification due to absence of pipes as in cylindrical electromagnetic pumps. The vortex camera and supplying channel is positioned in such way that metal is always situated in a hot camera so electromagnetic inductor can be switched on and off at any time for any time period. The supply channel is easy to clean without stopping the furnace and dismounting the inductor. The layout of Gors-Vortex differentiates depending of the type of furnace and requirements of the client. It can be installed on any type of melting furnace with capacity from 5 to 100 tons.
